ChatGPT Prompts

The working set: ChatGPT prompts we keep coming back to — writing, learning, decisions and planning. Copy any prompt, swap the bracketed parts, paste it in.

The deep-dive brief
Act as a senior analyst. I will give you a topic. Teach it to me in three layers: the 60-second version, the working knowledge, and what practitioners know that beginners do not. End with the three questions I should ask next. Topic: [TOPIC].
Rewrite in my voice
Here are two samples of my writing: [PASTE 1] [PASTE 2]. Learn the voice — sentence length, rhythm, vocabulary. Then rewrite the text below in that exact voice without changing the meaning: [TEXT].
The decision memo
I am deciding between [OPTION A] and [OPTION B]. My constraints: [LIST]. Write a one-page decision memo: what matters here, what does not, the strongest case for each side, and your recommendation with the main risk named.
Meeting to action
Here are my messy meeting notes: [NOTES]. Turn them into: decisions made, open questions, action items with owners and deadlines (ask me if unclear), and a three-line summary I can forward.
Learn it in 7 days
Design a 7-day learning plan for [SKILL]. I have [HOURS] hours per day and I learn best by doing. Each day: one concept, one exercise, one way to check I actually learned it.
The red team
Here is my plan: [PLAN]. Act as a skeptical expert who wants this plan to fail. List the five most likely failure modes, ranked, each with an early warning sign and a cheap mitigation.
Explain like a colleague
Explain [CONCEPT] the way a smart colleague would over coffee — no textbook tone, one good analogy, and the one misconception people usually have about it.
Feedback before I send
Here is an email I am about to send: [EMAIL]. Score it 1-10 for clarity and for tone. Show the one sentence that weakens it, then give me a tighter rewrite that keeps my intent.
The 80/20 summary
Summarize the text below to the 20% that carries 80% of the value. Keep the author’s actual claims, drop the examples unless one is load-bearing: [TEXT]
Interview me
I want to write about [EXPERIENCE/TOPIC] but I am too close to it. Interview me: ask one question at a time, five total, then assemble my answers into a clean first-person draft.
Name the trade-offs
I can do [OPTION A], [OPTION B], or [OPTION C]. For each: what I gain, what I give up, what it forecloses. Then tell me which option someone with my stated priority of [PRIORITY] would pick, and why.
Weekly review partner
Act as my weekly review partner. Ask me: what moved, what stalled, what I am avoiding. Then help me pick the three things next week that would make the rest easier.
Titles of the prompts in the ChatGPT Prompts collection
Every prompt names its job in the first line.
Example four-part prompt produced by the generator: Act as a patient teacher who explains with everyday analogies and never talks down. Teach
A real output of this generator: the labeled parts, then the prompt as one copyable piece.
